Interviews can be daunting. We want you to be comfortable when attending an interview. Preparation is key.

Why not consider some of the following simple interview tips for preparing for your interview:

  1. Remember the basics - work out your route in advance, make sure you dress smartly and that you know the name of the person you are going to see. Check to see if there is parking available or where the nearest place to park is to the office.
  2. Do your research, find out as much about the company as you can, the best place for this is the companies website, but also consider recent trade journals, company brochures and other industry websites. Find out as much as you can which will demonstrate you have done your homework and have a genuine interest in working for company.
  3. If you know people already working at the company, talk to them and find out what their role involves and their likes and dislikes. Are there any mutual sub-contractors/suppliers?
  4. Has the company won any awards or accreditations?
  5. Think about the skills and experience you have to offer the company and the role.
  6. Try to look objectively at your CV and work out what questions the interviewer may ask.
  7. Prepare general questions to ask the interviewer such as turnover, staff numbers, reporting structure, training, locations etc. Also prepare more challenging technical questions that specifically relate to your role and experience.
