Design Manager

An extremely successful subcontractor known for their expertise in cladding, curtain walling and glazing are currently seeking a competent Design Manager to oversee their upcoming commercial projects in London. This company has gained their recognition as an innovative subcontractor by providing high-quality architectural glass solutions across London due to their unparalleled expertise in bespoke glazing, stainless steel and curtain walling.

High in demand to produce multiple projects for their blue-chip clients, they need a competent and experienced designer to maintain their advanced and modern status in the industry.

Working individually and within a team you will be responsible for all aspects of the design process. This will involve interpretation of architectural / services drawings leading to production of CAD layouts and working details. Therefore, you will have experience of using the latest AutoCAD packages ideally be proficient with Revit and or Solidworks. You will also have relevant, practical experience gained in a suitable sub-contractor environment where you will have been involved in designing suspended curtain walling/cladding, glazing, or metalwork. Thus, to be successful in this role you will need to be commercially aware and have excellent communication skills.

Minimum requirements:

The ideal CAD Technician will have gained 5 years' experience working on exterior projects. Ideally you will be HND or City and Guilds qualified in a relevant construction or engineering related discipline. Preferably you will also be computer literate with programming experience, have good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work without supervision and to use your own initiative and experience to fulfil the company's commitments. Career stability will be key in the selection process, as the clients are keen to employee an individual with only a small handful of previous employers. Contracts Manager

£80000 - £85000 per annum

Our client is a leading Interior fit-out specialist in Essex offering the complete design, supply and installation of passive fire protection systems in commercial properties and they are looking to strengthen their Operations team with a high calibre Contracts Manager to be based in Central London.

With an extensive portfolio of commercial offices with typical contracts varying from £100k through to £1m they seek this key member of the management team. As a Contracts Manager you will have excellent communication and management skills to co-ordinate input from each department, to maximise the efficiency and add value to the project. You will be fully conversant with the cost and be able to plan activities safely, having direct responsibility for all activities carried out on site and must be able to implement the business management system procedures and provide a professional approach to all aspects of the projects.

Your duties will be to take full operational responsibility for running all aspects of a major fire protection projects from award through to final handover to the client. This includes the design, procurement and fit-out phases. You will need to be fully conversant with the following: contract documents including correspondence; understand and interpret drawings; research, establish and develop method statements and programmes; reporting; record keeping and project reviews.

Required Attributes and Experience:

The ideal Contracts Manager will have 10 years experience working on construction sites with at least 5 years as a Manager with proven experience of running bespoke interior and refurb projects. Ideally you will be HND or Degree qualified in a construction or engineering related discipline with a SMSTS, CSCS Managers card and either a relevant First Aid certificate. Preferably you will be computer literate with programming and planning experience, have good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work without supervision and to use your own initiative and experience to fulfil the company's commitments.

Finally, the successful Contracts Manager will offer a high level of professionalism at all times in dealing with clients, people and in the presentation of themselves and their work. You will be able to handle demanding people in challenging situations and show the capacity to absorb new knowledge quickly and must be able to motivate teams and drive Projects to successfully deliver the companies commitments and aspirations.

Technical Co-Ordinator

£60000 - £65000 per annum

Technical Co-ordinator Up to £65,000 plus excellent package

Interiors Sub-Contractor

London

Our client is a leading Sub-Contractor in London offering the complete design, supply and installation of passive fire protection systems including ceilings, partitions and dry lining as well as external works Due to continued growth they are looking to strengthen their Design team with a strong Technical Co-ordinator.

Currently boasting a bulging portfolio of commercial and residential projects up to £4 million in value they seek an experienced individual who would be looking to grow into key member of the design team. This Technical position requires strong technical skills and good communication within the team.

You will need:

  • To have a good Understanding of Building Regs
  • To have a good Understanding of Firas Rules and Regulations and acceptable forms of Evidence
  • To have a good understanding of Product and Test standard and there relative Direct and Extended fields of application

Day today duties include:

  • To review the First of a kind (benchmark) of each installation before submission to client
  • To monitor and review ongoing quality throughout the project
  • To review Digital records to insure clear and concise records of firestopping are maintained throughout the project.

Weekly functions:

  • To liaise with Main and Subcontractors on the Project.
  • To attend co-ordination meetings with MEP/Drywall Contractors to plan upcoming works
  • Attend on site at various site offices and also work from company offices.
  • Report into Technical Manager based in Central London
